Happy 2012 & an upcoming happy Anniversary
From a traveling blues band doing afternoon warm-up that turned into a private concert for a raucous wedding party who even joined in the set...to a champagne toasting, dual-carriage ride around downtown Jasper...to a sun soaked outdoor ceremony on the lookout above Pyramid Stables with views of the entire 3-valley confluence...2011 has been a year of weddings to be remembered. It seems fitting that, as I anticipate another exciting wedding season in Jasper, ARC Photography is getting ready to celebrate its five year anniversary this spring with the launch of a new wedding-specific site at www.arcphotoweddings.com. The new flash site offers more galleries, a client preview section and information about pricing and services specific to Jasper wedding clients.
The December highlights
Fresh from a 6-week adventure across Canada to Quebec City and back via Wisconsin, South Dakota and Montana, US, I returned to Jasper just in time for the madness of the holiday season. Winter weddings, Jasper Gymnastics Club portrait sessions, family photos and one beautiful new born, all kept me busy right until the New Year. I'm always impressed by how brave my winter brides can be — whether they were wearing Ugs hidden under their dress or 4-inch red heels, braving the Jasper weather is always worth it for the incredible photos we can create in this amazing place. Even when the mountains are hiding behind layers of cumulous dropping big wet flakes, there's always a chance to create images that are unique to Jasper and each couple.

After the wedding madness, the Jasper Gymnastics Club struck their best poses for some athletic portraits just in time for Christmas. The next week, I was joined by one energetic, local family at the Jasper airfield for a photo session where they even brought along their own antique couch as a prop.

Finally, after only being in the world a couple weeks, Baby Matteo let me hang-out with him for a short while before he went jet-setting back to his second home in Mexico.
